A Personal Note
I believe that the future is not going to be evenly distributed. In fact, those with an abundance of “high tech” or “high human” skills will walk away with a bigger than average piece of the pie.
I want to make sure that everyone gets a fair shot at the pie.
The future is big, bright and beautiful – for the right people.
“High tech” skills are the instruments that will build the future. They require a lot of effort to learn, and even more persistence to master. This journey is a long and worthwhile one and the rewards are great but fraught with danger. Years of effort and commitment can go down the drain as these are prone to obsolescence.Technologies and science based skill sets, particularly in the areas of Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Cybernetics, Internet of Things, Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality, Bio Hacking, are ushering in massive changes to the way society operates. People who can create new technologies and businesses using these skills are building the world we will live in.
In contrast to the “high tech” skills, “high human” skills are the core of what make us human. Creativity, empathy, communication and an understanding of the human condition are skills that anybody can and everybody must learn. They are what make us human and allow us to connect, to create and to lead.
Even if we don’t have aptitude for “high tech” skills, with enough effort, we can leverage our mastery over “high human” skills to bring about change and influence the course of the future. We can rally people to our causes, help chart the course of history and, most importantly, make a difference.
You can be a brick or you can be the cement – a specialist or a generalist, but you need both to build a house.
It’s simple. For making it big in the future, you’ll need both “high tech” skills and “high human” skills. You can learn the “high tech” skills from anywhere. And some of the “high human” skills can’t be taught.
I’ll speak and train others on the ones that can be learned, and in my journey, the two most important goals I have are to win the World Championship of Public Speaking and to grow BuildYourTribeToday.com into a successful business – based on “High Human” skills.
Onward & Upward.
