The Second Letter
Sorry for the delayed letter.
I was writing you a letter about how we can learn something from the gods. It was coming along well and I was making some real progress. I even had some useful examples involving Ganesha, Saraswati and Lakshmi.
Then, I ran into one massive roadblock.
Learning From The Gods
There’s one thing we cannot learn from the gods – how to deal with life. You see – we are not gods. We don’t have magic, infinite power or wisdom. We are real, normal humans who have everyday problems like rent, salaries and receding hairlines.
We can’t deal with our problems the way gods would. We need a way to deal with our problems in a very human way.
The Human Way To Deal With Problems
Most of the time, we have problems because our skills are not enough for the environment we are in. These skills could range anywhere from emotional stability to marketing to juggling chainsaws – it all depends on the environment. To solve our problems, we need to level up and improve our skills.
How To Level Up: My List
As I grow, I’ve been facing different problems that need new skills. Over time, I’ve picked up many things that help me get through the day as a normal, functioning adult.
Below, you’ll find a short list of what I’ve been doing to make sure my skills match my environment.
- Reading or listening to books
- Picking up a new hobby
- Studying something
- Learning a language
- Building a vision board
- Speaking in public
- Knowing my strengths
- Getting a mentor
- Find good friends
- Read motivational stuff
- Stop watching TV
Pick a thing or two from the list, try it out and let me know how it works for you.
That’s it. See you next week.
