I am a hypocrite
I am a hypocrite. Everyday, with acquaintances, I outwardly participate in conversations where I pretend to empathize with them, their opinions and problems.
Inside, I don’t give a fuck.
I really am not perturbed by what happens around me – unless it happens to me or the people I care about. I live in my own little world. I have my problems. I have my dreams and ambitions. I don’t want to know about your life – you have Facebook for that.
The funny thing is that this is the reason why I am so comfortable online. I don’t have to listen if I don’t want to. In real life, I need to use my fake call application on the iPhone.
The best part is – I am not alone. And neither are you. I have a close circle of people who I can reach out to – people who resonate with me, people who I find genuinely interesting, people I would go out on a limb for. And that’s enough for me.
Before you run at me with pitchforks and drums, just think – you’re probably like me too.
